Gigabyte BRIX S – specy mini PCs with APU AMD Renoir
The Gigabyte company introduces a new series of BRIX S mini computers with AMD Renoir 4000 series APU processors. These processors, designed mainly for laptops, are successfully used in small computers. Almost a year has passed since the presentation of AMD renoir processors, and devices with these processors have not appeared on the market much. There will be two versions of the BRIX S computer available – one will be the taller with dimensions of 46.8×119.5×119.5, the other will be lower – 34.7×119.5×119.5.
Gigabyte BRIX S with AMD systems will use Renoir processors from the energy-efficient U line. These will be the following models: AMD Ryzen 3 4300U, Ryzen 5 4500U, Ryzen 5 4600U, Ryzen 7 4700U and Ryzen 7 4800U. Depending on the processor selected, an integrated Radeon Graphics chip will also be available with 5 (Ryzen 3), 6 (Ryzen 5), 7 (Ryzen 7 4700U) or 8 CU blocks (Ryzen 7 4800U) respectively.
Computers will be able to handle 64 GB DDR4 RAM clocked at 3200 MHz through two SO-DIMM slots. Inside, there will also be room for a single SSD in M.2 format. The higher model will also have the option of installing a 2.5 “HDD / SSD.
The user has two USB 3.2 Type C Gen.2 ports with support for DisplayPort 1.4, digital mini DisplayPort and full HDMI 2.0. It allows you to connect up to four screens with a resolution of 4K each. In addition, we have five USB 3.2 Gen1 type A connectors, a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 socket, a 3.5 mm audio-jack connector and a power socket. Unfortunately, we will not receive an SD / microSD memory card reader in any variant. Gigabyte still has not given the exact date of the store launch of its computers as well as prices. The device also has mounting holes in the VESA 75×75 and 100×100 standard, allowing for e.g. mounting behind a TV set.
