Kodi – How to install InputStream Adaptive & RTMP Input

Installing many plugins for VOD services such as Netflix or Ipla requires InputStream Adaptive and RTMP Input.

Installation is easy on windows, less obvious on linux, which doesn’t mean it’s difficult.

For windows, install plugins from official kodi repositories.

If the plugins are already installed, they just need to be turned on:

Addons > My Add-ons > Videoplayer InputStream

And check InputStream Adaptive i RTMP Input

If they are not installed:

Addons > Install from repository > Kodi Add-on repository > VideoPlayer InputStream

And check InputStream Adaptive i RTMP Input


In a linux system, plugins will most often need to be installed, e.g. using a terminal. For Debian and Ubuntu systems:

sudo apt-get install kodi-inputstream-adaptive

sudo apt-get install kodi-inputstream-rtmp

If the plugins are already installed, they just need to be turned on:

Addons > My Add-ons > Videoplayer InputStream

And check InputStream Adaptive i RTMP Input.
